Great info on wetsuits for beginners.
When I started I also didn't want to invest in a $400 wetsuit. Instead, I picked up a shorty wetsuit (one you would use for water skiing) from Costco for $49. This was not ideal but it did the trick for my first season. When I decided to take the plunge (ha ha ha) and buy a full wetsuit, I went with an Orca. It was about $350 new and have had it for the 4 yrs and it is still looks like new.
As for your question about indoor pool tris...The tris that I have done with a pool swim there was not option to change in the change room. Once the swim is over, you run outside to your bike and change at T1 (swim to bike transition)
I wish your podcast was around 5 yrs ago when I started doing tri. Great info.
